Chelsea’s demolition job of Arsenal in Baku consigned the Gunners to Europe’s second-tier competition for a third season in a row.Joining them are Manchester United and Wolves, although the celebrations between the two sides would have been markedly different.United endured a miserable end to the season and missed out on the Champions League spots thanks to a draw at relegated Huddersfield Town.While Wolves marked their first season back in the Premier League with an incredible seventh-placed finish. WHEN DOES THE COMPETITION START?

The draw for the preliminary round will take place in Nyon on Tuesday, June 11 with the draws for the first and second qualifying rounds taking place the following week.The preliminary round ties will take place on June 27 and July 4, before the first qualifying round ties on July 11 and July 18.

WHEN DO PREMIER LEAGUE TEAMS ENTER?

Wolves will enter at the second qualifying round stage, along with the likes of Espanyol, Roma, Eintracht Frankfurt and Strasbourg, and the ties will take place on July 25 and August 1.Wolves will be in the Europa League next seasongetty2

But the draw for the third qualifying round will take place before those ties, on July 22, with the draw for the play-off round on August 5.The third qualifying round and play-off round ties will take place in August, with the group stage draw then taking place in Monaco on August 30, once all the qualifiers for the competition are confirmed.

WHEN ARE THE GROUP STAGES?

This is when Arsenal and United will find out who they will face in the group stage, where they will face three other sides as the competition is split into 12 groups of four.The six group stage matches will then take place between September and December, before the draw for the round of 32 is held in Nyon on December 16. The round of 32 matches will be in February, before the draw for the round of 16 on February 28.The draws for the quarter-finals and semi-finals will then take place on March 20, the day after the round of 16 ties are completed.
