And with City playing in the Carabao Cup final and Liverpool facing a resurgent Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, a win would put Spurs within two points of them.However, things did not go to plan at all as Mauricio Pochettino’s men fell to a 2-1 defeat at Turf Moor despite the return of talisman Harry Kane to the starting XI.The defeat leaves Spurs in a difficult position and if Liverpool can get anything out of the United game, then that’s vital ground Spurs have lost.Spurs were unable to get a result despite Harry Kane’s return to the starting line-up following an ankle injury2
