But the company were forced to apologise after a technical problem saw them send congratulations emails to all of their subscribers.Mastercard, who hold no responsibility for the malfunction, hit out at the retail firm and urged them to fix the problem immediately. A spokesperson said: “We are extremely disappointed with todays events and our sympathies go to the many people who were wrongly contacted by Zavvi in connection to their competition.“We have asked Zavvi to clarify how they are resolving as a matter of urgency.One of the emails sent to thousands of subscribers2

Zavvi said in a tweet: “Apologies, we’re aware of the problem regarding the recent Mastercard Competition.“We seem to have had some technical issues and we’re currently looking into this.”
